This week has been a week of miracle finds through other people- both are homeless-ish but don't be alarmed! One, named Andy, came to church with his crazy recent convert former-born-again christian friend who found the gospel in Washington D.C. and literally walked all the way to Utah- It took him 2 months. I prayed yesterday morning that members would bring their nonmember friends to church and the prayer was answered! Andy is from Oregon and moved here 2 weeks ago. His friend, Daniel, taught him about the word of wisdom and he has been living it and feels a lot more peace and happiness in his life. John 7:17 is one of my favorite scriptures- people won't know of the truthfulness of what the gospel teaches until they live it! The other homeless guy moved here from Texas 4 days ago, showed up to temple square and said he wants to be baptized. His name is Alex Ramos and he grew up catholic but talked to missionaries in Texas and believes the church is true.
Arturo, the a 21 yr. old that we street contacted the 2nd night I was here has started making some amazing changes! We found out that after he committed to read the Book of Mormon he read the first 15 chapters in 4 days...TWICE. He was very hesitant about coming to church when we invited him but by the 3rd lesson he had quit his weekend job because in his words "How can I go to church if I'm working?" It's amazing to see how quickly the spirit works on people who are prepared to receive the gospel. He is "catholic" but considers himself christian because a woman at work once felt prompted to give him a bible so he read it. I love reading the prophecies in ezekiel 37 and in 2 Nephi 3:12 that talk about how the Bible and Book of Mormon will work together in these last days. They both lead us to Christ and together teach us exactly what we need to do to return to God one day.
Miracles are happening here in Salt Lake and I am refusing to say I am on "the downhill slope" of my mission as people keep saying! My new response when people ask me when I'll be done with my mission is to yell NEVER! and walk away. I love wearing this badge and representing the Savior each and every day. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you Paul, for that scripture that has inspired me all this week.
I was touched by the charity and love of one of our Bishops this week. By their fruits ye shall know them, and seeing his sincere concern to help our homeless investigator and all he did to get him what he needed was just a witness to me that he is a true servant of the Lord. John 15:16 is such an important doctrine from the Bible. We do not aspire to callings but the Lord chooses us! I am so grateful he trusted me with this calling.
Love you all and hope you have a great week!

My first hotpot! I ate a tiny little herb-like pepper that made my tongue go numb. I thought I would have to amputate my tongue but luckily the feeling in my tongue resumed after about 10 minutes. ;)
Exchanges with Sister Nyundo from Zambia! She has an amazing conversion story:)
James, the one from Uganda, had a test this week so we thought we would provide him with some needed fuel:)
