For those of you haven't served a mission or are preparing to serve, I'll let you in on a small part of mission life that sometimes we forget to share. You have the CRAZIEST dreams!! And they always have to do with missionary work. For me they typically consist of doing mundane things, like grocery shopping, but something will be completely off in comparison to mission life, like in the dream I'll notice my companion is nowhere to be found among all the produce isles. And then I get super stressed and wake up. This week though, I discovered I must be fluent in spanish because I started speaking it. There are a few phrases I use a lot when we contact spanish people and those must be stuck in my subconscious. In my dream I was in the middle of speaking to a large crowd when everyone started to get up before I was finished. Frustrated, I yelled "YO SE QUE LA IGLESIA ES VERDADERA! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." I thing in dream life I thought my one phrase of spanish testimony would get people's attention and make them sit back down, but alas they kept leaving. Sometimes I have to laugh at my own brain.
This week has been wonderful, complete with a mid-spring winter storm on wednesday that I was NOT prepared for. I was probably wearing the springiest outfit I've worn all season because it was warm in the morning but by nightfall it was freezing and snowing. Enough about the weather though! We had 3 amazing lessons with arturo. He always ends up bearing his testimony in some way or another that he can feel this is all true. We taught him about eternal families again and his face lit up. He said he feels uncomfortable when he goes to parties now, the last one he went to his friends were pressuring him to smoke with them and stay longer and not only did he give a flirty girl the cold shoulder but he said "I've gotta go, I have church tomorrow." He is still unsure about this church being the full truth and about Joseph Smith, but he sees how happy we are and the members that he's becoming friends with and it inspires him. He came to both sessions of stake conference and even brought one of his nonmember friends with him on saturday night. He fasted on sunday and texted us saying that he ate tacos... and kangaroo tacos... then he said he was kidding but that he did accidentally have a glass of water. We told him that was pretty good for his first time ever fasting and he said "yeah I guess so and I will be having a FAT breakfast tomorrow" haha. He keeps us laughing.
There is so much more I want to write but my time is up! Sadly, Channa is moving into the east mission this week but he came to stake conference too. We ask him why he wants to be baptized and he says "Because I want to follow God and you have to follow the rules!" He is so pure, just like a child. I will include a picture:)
I am so grateful for the miracles I continue to witness as people make changes in their life through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Be patient with yourself, the miracle is in the journey. The pattern of change can be compared to how nature grows. It takes time, love, and care!
Love,
Sister Pearson

P.S. I got to see Mr. Brother Dr. Alan Thomas at stake conference too! Sadly no Hope with him, but I can wait to see her:)
