For those of you who couldn't make it, I've gotta say the bets part of my weekend was seeing the beautiful smiling faces of my family yesterday night:) I am one lucky missionary! And Molly (my new niece) is soo adorable! As my family already knows, we've pushed Arturo's baptism back to this upcoming Saturday and though he was a little bummed to move it, he is more than prepared to make this sacred covenant with God. In sunday school yesterday we had a new teacher asked us all to introduce ourselves and include one unique thing about us. Some people were saying serious things, most people were saying not so serious things (for example I shared with the class my talent of touching my tongue to my nose with hardly any effort) and Arturo said "I guesw what is unique about me is how much the bible and the Book of Mormon have changed my life in the past 2 months." The scripture in Alma 31:5 has come true in my mission: "And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God." As we do the small and simple things that cleanse us from the inside out daily, we grow the most.
I don't have much to write this week; one big newsflash is that we're getting ipads on Tuesday! It is an inspired thing and though it will take a lot of adjusting as we adapt to new ways of missionary work, it will be worth it in the end! I am excited to learn how to really have self discipline with technology because not only does it lead to so much serious sin but even just serious time wasting in today's world. So I guess my invitation to you this week is to put down your iphone and pick up a new hobby or talk to people face to face more often than you usually do:)
